Active North Welcomes Cortney- Mental Performance Consultant

Cortney Lacroix

B.A., M.H.K., MPC

Cortney is a graduate from the University of Ottawa where she completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Specialization in Psychology and a Master of Human Kinetics with a Concentration in Consultation and Intervention (Applied Sport Psychology). She is a student member with the Canadian Sport Psychology Association.

Cortney was born and raised in Tiny, Ontario. Growing up she played several sports such as soccer, ball-hockey, curling, snowboarding, etc. She enjoys kayaking and paddle boarding on Georgian Bay. Cortney values the connection of the mind and body; she is passionate about meditation and yoga. Cortney is bringing her knowledge of psychology and love for sports together to help others. Cortney is charismatic and her care for the wellbeing of others is what led her to this field.

As a mental performance consultant, Cortney helps athletes enhance their performance and individuals enhance their daily wellbeing through the use of mental skills training. Mental skills include, but are not limited to, goal setting, motivation, performance planning, confidence, relaxation, distraction control, imagery, self-talk, organizational skills, and stress management.

Cortney is looking forward to working with athletes, business professionals, and individuals interested in increasing their physical activity levels and/or wellbeing. She is excited to be joining the Active North team!
